I am fortunate to be surrounded by the two oldest art colonies in the country; Rocky Neck Art Colony in East Gloucester and Bearskin Neck Art Colony in Rockport, MA. Artists and art lovers from around the world come here every year to paint, to teach, to be inspired. The Cape Ann School of American Impressionism has influenced some of the greatest painters for over 150 years. I was an honored to work closely with some very gifted artists and bring high end Limited Edition Giclee prints to market for them. The process starts with a high resolution full size digital capture under studio conditions using a Better Light capture system. Then mastering the image with the artist using color profile software matched to the output media, whether it was canvas, watercolor paper, illustration media, gloss or matte presentation stock. Each individual image could that 10 to 20 hours to master, with multiple proofs along the way. The payoff, a print so detailed and color accurate that it could hold it's own next to the original.
